The four physicians at the RGV Women’s Health Center care for women of all ages. As pregnancy doctors, we can help you to conceive and monitor your health to ensure that both you and your baby stay healthy throughout your pregnancy. If any complications develop, we can treat a high risk pregnancy and women that are carrying multiples.

In our pregnancy clinic, we understand that some women experience difficulty getting pregnant. We are happy to provide an infertility test/screening and refer you to the most appropriate specialist. Growing your family is an important decision and one that is highly personal. Our physicians are here to support your decisions and help you to grow your family in your way and your timing.

In our women’s health clinic, we regularly work with women that have a high risk pregnancy. At times, women that are otherwise healthy still have a difficult time while pregnant. This can be due to blood pressure becoming elevated, gestational diabetes, or feeling generally sick during the pregnancy. We can treat these conditions through a combination of preventative care, diet, exercise, and medication.

Women that need a pregnancy doctor to treat their pre-term labor can benefit from our years of experience. We understand that feeling contractions too early can be frightening. Our job is to keep the baby in-utero for as long as possible so that they can grow and develop like they are supposed to. In our pregnancy clinic, we treat pre-term labor using medication and reduced activity. This will typically help to give your baby the time it needs to grow.

At RGV Women’s Health Center, our gynecologists thoroughly treat women’s health issues. We recommend that women first see a gynecologist when they are around eighteen years of age. If possible, it is wise to visit a doctor prior to becoming sexually active so that you can avoid an unwanted pregnancy. On the patient’s first visit, we will ask questions in order to gain an understanding of their health concerns and reproductive choices. This way we can make recommendations and place our patients in control of their health care.

During routine exams at our women’s health clinic, we will look for signs of cervical cancer and breast cancer. This way if there are precancerous cells or early signs of cancer, it can be treated right away. Early detection is often the key for survival, making an annual pap test extremely important for our patients’ health. These well woman checks should be completed once a year and become even more important with age.

Our services as gynecologists are vast and include providing both temporary and permanent birth control options along with preventative care. This may include prescribing birth control pills, the patch or inserting an IUD. Those looking for a permanent solution may benefit from a surgical procedure that eliminates the possibility of pregnancy. We provide all of these solutions from our women’s health clinic and will make a recommendation for the birth control option that we feel will best fit our patients’ lifestyle.

For those that are experiencing pelvic pain or bladder problems, we can evaluate what is causing the issue and recommend treatment. In order to do so, our gynecologist may have an ultrasound completed. Based on what we find, we will treat any vaginal infections or bleeding, pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, cysts, fibroids, HPV, etc. We also offer bio identical hormone therapy for women throughout the Houston Rio Grande Valley area.
